Climate change

Climate Change is possibly the greatest threat to our planet. As an organisation Ramboll is committed to adhere to the statements made by the Intergovermental Panel in Climate Change (IPCC), taking climate change into account in all our daily activities and working towards slowing down, diminishing, and mitigating its effects.

The present situation requires both a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to the inevitable impacts of climate change. Both the mitigation of, and the adaption to, climate change calls for a holistic, cross-boundary, and cross disciplinary approach. Together with protection of natural systems and the wider environment, this involves many sectors such as transport, energy, infrastructure, urban development, and natural resource use.

Ramboll is among the world’s leading consultants, offering planning and implementation services for climate adaptation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. We serve both the public and private sectors at national, regional, and local levels. We help our customers quantify the financial implications of climate change, and find alternative solutions for the consequences.

Intelligent waste water handling in Copenhagen, Denmark

Climate change affects our society, and that in turn influences the environment and economy.  It is necessary to deal with more waste-water than ever before and this can result in having to enlarge waste-water pools, or rebuilding and removing existing sewer systems. However, these drastic measures could be avoided.  Ramboll has developed a system for intelligent waste water handling - which enables the cleaning of a greater amount of waste-water as well as being very cost-effective.

Renewable energy technologies in a 2030 and 2050 perspective Norway

In preparation for the future energy policy in Norway, Ramboll prepared an analysis of the possible game changers and drivers for energy technologies within energy distribution, production, storage, and energy efficiency. The report from the project is part of the basis for the official Norwegian Report “Energimeldingen 2012” on future energy policies for Norway.
